Objectives:  
My name is Emily Dirr, and I am a third-year Large Animal Internal Medicine Resident with a focus on food animal species. As a large animal internal medicine resident with additional graduate education, I bring a diverse array of methods of treating patients both at the individual and herd level. My primary interest lies in neonatal bovine medicine and critical care, but I enjoy seeing a variety of species and conditions. To your practice, I bring strengths in ruminant medicine, critical care, lameness evaluation/treatment, and soft tissue surgery. In addition, I hold skills in routine preventive care for both small and large animal patients. During my internship and residency, I have been afforded many opportunities to teach students, interns, and support staff both in clinical as well as didactic settings. Building a strong team with my colleagues, support staff, and clients is a core value that I continue to refine. Ideally, I would like to practice in central or southern Iowa, seeing predominantly food animal species. Thank you for your consideration!
