Objective:
|
To find a highly motivated veterinarian who is looking to join a progressive, fast-paced and growing dairy practice. Mill Creek encompasses many different areas of dairy medicine and there is an opportunity to do some small ruminant or small animal work in addition if you choose. |

Salary:
|
We offer a very competitive compensation package depending on experience. There is a base salary ($95,000 for new graduates) with production-based bonuses available. |

We provide a truck with vet box and all supplies necessary (ultrasound, surgical equipment, etc) to carry out the job. We have both a Milk Quality and IVF Laboratory at our clinic. |

MCVS currently consists of 9 full-time veterinarians, 1 microbiologist who manages our milk lab, 1 embryologist who runs our IVF laboratory, 1 office manager and 3 technicians. |

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
The core of our practice is managing the health and productivity of large dairy herds. This includes regularly scheduled visits to help manage reproductive programs and consult on preventative health measures. We do lots of pregnancy diagnosis by manual palpation and ultrasound, but also offer many other services to our clients. These include but are not limited to: dairy records analysis, employee training sessions in English or Spanish, milk barn equipment and milker analysis, calf health consultation, and any regulatory work necessary to facilitate the interstate or international movement of animals . In addition, we have an IVF laboratory on-site and offer on-farm OPU and embryo transfer. MCVS also runs a large milk quality laboratory to help our clients in achieving the highest milk quality standards. Mill Creek really encourages veterinarians to find their particular niche within dairy medicine and will help facilitate new veterinarians in gaining experience in the areas they truly enjoy. In the afternoons, veterinarians may take part in some work with our new Mobile Small Animal Clinic if they so choose. There would also be an opportunity to get involved in some small ruminant work if desired. |

MCVS is in Visalia, which is located in the heart of California's Central Valley, the largest dairy area in the country. We service dairies all up and down the valley. Visalia itself is 30 minutes south of Fresno, CA, which has a nice and convenient International Airport that makes travel easy. California's Central Coast and beautiful beaches are within a 2 hour drive. We are also near the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, and Sequoia National Park is within a 45 minute drive of our office. There are plenty of mountain activities to enjoy from hiking to hunting to snow-skiing. Los Angeles and San Francisco are both approximately 3 1/2 hours away. There is plenty of fun stuff to keep anyone busy during weekends or time off. |
