Objective of Talk Cattle that require additional care are often housed in special pens. Common reasons cattle are housed in a special pen include bovine respiratory disease, lameness, and chronic disease. The management of these pens is important for cattle health and welfare. This presentation will discuss considerations for how to manage these pens including transmissible disease, facility sanitation, pen cleaning, ration management, and post treatment interval. The presentation will also discuss objective monitoring of animal welfare.
