Kinnard Farms Incorporated, a fifth-generation family-owned Dairy and Crop farm located in Northeast Wisconsin, is currently looking to add a full-time Dairy Production Veterinarian to serve as Director of Dairy Operations. Kinnard Farms' mission is to produce a superior quality product by taking exceeptional care of our most precious resources: employees, cattle, land, and water.
We are early adopters of technology, and care for our Dairy Herd in two state of the art dairy facilities. We also own and operate the Kinnard Farms Calf Depot, a baby calf nursery that prepares baby calves for travel to our calf and heifer ranch in Colorado.
The Dairy Production Veterinarian will develop and implement production systems that allow our team and our herd to remain an industry leader. The Dairy Production Veterinarian will create and implement training programs, develop effective monitoring systems, and produce reporting systems that promote growth amongst our Team.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement humane cattle handling protocols that
ensure our girls will be treated with respect at all times.
Identify, investigate, and incorporate technology and systems
that enhance cow comfort, health, and productivity.
Create and incorporate systems that promote wellness, focusing
on prevention rather than treatment.
Develop and mentor employees to excel in key leadership roles.
Develop and implement standardized training programs.
Create and implement key performance indicators that allow
leaders to monitor and evaluate their teams performance.
Assist our local veterinarian clinic as they provide herd
health services.
Evaluation of our health and reproductive programs.
Evaluation of our herd monitor and report key performance
indicators to all on the Team.

Training Required:

Training Required:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, licensed in the United States.
Willingness to learn Spanish, and passionate about teaching.

Experience Desired:
|
At least two years of private practice preferred. |

As this is an on-site Veterinarian position, a furnished office and company vehicle will be provided. Access to on-site lab and testing equipment is also provided. |

The Dairy Production Veterinarian will work closely with our local Veterinarian Clinic and our consulting vets, as well as our consulting Nutritionist. This position will also work closely with our existing team of on-site managers, currently including a Herd Manager, Feed Manager, Herd Team Leader, Calf Depot Manager, and a Team of Milk Harvest Managers. |
