Objective:
|
Country Roads Veterinary Services is seeking to hire a full time food animal (90% dairy, 10% beef, small ruminant) or mixed animal (same FA percentage but 50% also companion animal) associate veterinarian. The practice has two locations (one food animal, one companion animal) located in Ashland, Ohio. |

Training Required:

Veterinarian who is licensed or obtaining a license to practice in Ohio. |

Experience Desired:

Any experience level. Great mentorship and training program tailored to your individual needs and experience level. |

Salary:
|
$95,000 plus depending on experience and type of position desired by applicant. Emergency service for regular dairy clients only. No non-client or small animal emergencies. Associate receives the entire emergency fee. |

We have an in-house milk quality lab, ultrasounds, in-house chemical pregnancy testing, full milking system evaluation equipment, and everything you need to practice progressive dairy medicine. Small animal clinic focuses on quality care in a small town and includes digital radiographs, CO2 laser, anesthesia monitoring, dental suite, and in-house lab diagnostics. |

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:

The dairy portion of the practice is ambulatory, providing services to 120 regular clients with herd sizes ranging from 40 to 750 cows. Many of the dairies are new facilities constructed within the past 10 years. Clients are progressive and open to our consulting services. Range of services includes ultrasound reproductive exams, in-house blood pregnancy testing, DC305 records analysis, calf and cow facility design, calf health programs, a busy in-house milk culturing lab, parlor analysis and milk quality programs, and nutrition consulting. The practice provides full ration development and nutrition consulting to over 1/3 of the clients. Parlor analysis and consulting is performed using all of the necessary tools and equipment (Lactocorder, Vadia, Digimet, Tri-Scan) to create detailed reports for customers and is also performed for farms outside of our client base on a consulting basis. Our practice is also involved with on-farm drug treatment protocols, records review and implementing a sound VCPR with each customer. In addition to dairy farms, we also provide services to some cow-calf and fed cattle operations, a few small ruminants and limited equine work, primarily horses owned by dairy clients.
