Hello! My name is Mackenzie Holmes and I am a current VM4 at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. I will graduate at the end of May of this year (2023) and seek an associate position at a food-animal or mixed-animal practice. My passions include all ruminants, but most of my experiences have been in dairy and beef cattle. I grew up on a small beef cattle operation in central Florida and went to undergrad at the University of Florida. Here, I fell in love with dairy production and worked at the university dairy farm for 3 years. I took additional dairy-centered electives and was a member of the dairy club. While in veterinary school, I have used most of my off-campus opportunities to gain experiences in herd health and dairy management, and get more confident at transrectal palpation. Since I'm from Florida and currently live in Missouri, I am willing to go anywhere for work! At this time, I think I would prefer somewhere east/northeast, but am open to anything. My ideal place to call home would be somewhere rich in mentorship and community involvement.
