Objective:
|
Main work is a large Dairy heifer development feedyard in Dalhart. Over 1000 baby calves received daily. 50,000+ hutches. Majority of work is TB testing, CVI's, bangs vax, some palpation. Also worker training and monitoring with the broken leg, trauma and 5 legged calf surgery thrown in. Also work with other large commercial and organic dairies in the area with a large buffalo feedyard in the practice as well. No after hour calls. Everything is scheduled. |

Texas License and level 2 accreditation

Experience is great but the willingness to work and learn is better. |

Salary:
|
Salary is negotiable depending on how much you want to work. $150,000 to $200,000+ would be expected. The work is here, expect to get full salary your first week. |

Every place you will work has all the tools you need. Vet truck is not needed. On this form there is no place for the negatives of the business so here they are. You're working with cattle outside so there is manure, mud and usually no shade. It can be very windy with blowing sand and manure. It can be very hot (low humidity) or very cold. Most of your help does not speak English. I don't speak Spanish and it has not been a problem for me. |

All help is provided by the clients. I'm a former dairy owner and dairy veterinarian with 30+ years experience. I've seen a lot but I learn something new everyday and will be available to brain storm as needed. |

It is the panhandle of Texas, so it's flat. You can see your dog run away for two days. Amarillo is about 1.5 hours away and Colorado and New Mexico mountains are about 3 hours away. |
