 The Department of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems (ANFS) in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture at The University of New Hampshire seeks candidates for a full-time (9 month) tenure track assistant professor of precision livestock management. The Department of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems (ANFS) ( serves undergraduate majors through its Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems, Animal Science, Nutrition, and Equine Studies programs, as well as graduate students and dietetic interns through a variety of departmental and college-wide programs. Current ANFS faculty research areas include agroecology, animal and plant production, plant breeding and applied genomics, plant pathology, dairy cattle nutrition, food systems analysis, nutritional epidemiology, human nutrition, and disease prevention. We are a vibrant, interdisciplinary department committed to engaging in cross-disciplinary research and teaching at the interface of our food system, human health, and the environment.   
Training Required:
 The successful candidate will conduct research in the broad area of precision livestock management using data-driven methods that could include high throughput phenotyping and genotyping, predictive analytics, spatially distributed experiments, and machine learning to assess physiological and behavioral performance indicators for improving animal nutrient use efficiency, animal wellness and farm sustainability. Relative to other regions, Northeast farms are smaller and more numerous per capita. It is important that the research approach is relevant to this regionally-specific scale of production. Given the broad disciplinary expertise in our department, we seek candidates with a strong orientation to interdisciplinary research. The applicant is expected to advise graduate and undergraduate students, teach courses related to candidate’s expertise, and engage in service activities within and outside the Department.
