Job Description:

 The Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Theriogenology. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate Theriogenology teaching in the DVM program and will have demonstrated involvement in the teaching of DVM students, ideally in both didactic and clinical Theriogenology. Successful candidates will have a broad range of Theriogenology experience but will have specific aptitude and clinical expertise with both companion animal and equine Theriogenology. The successful candidate will participate in delivering core Theriogenology lectures and assist with associated palpation laboratories throughout the first three years of the DVM program, and coordinate and deliver core companion animal Theriogenology rotations in the final year DVM curriculum. In addition, they will participate in the clinical training of DVSc students towards ACT Board Certification and teach graduate courses in Theriogenology. As well, they will actively participate in the Theriogenology service including clinical appointments and out of hours; and they will be expected to assist in Theriogenology consultations requested by either small or large animal clinicians. The current caseload in the Large Animal Hospital is approximately 90% equine with the remainder a mix of bovine, small ruminant, pet porcine, and camelids. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills and will use these skills to develop networks across broad communities of experts, effectively collaborating with faculty from multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive, independent, and collaborative research program in an area of departmental interest such as Theriogenology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Management, or One Health. Related peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations and the ability to generate research funds to support graduate student training to the MSc, PhD and/or DVSc levels will help ensure the successful candidate will be an effective faculty member within the Department of Population Medicine. 
Training Required:
 Applicants will have a DVM or equivalent degree, be eligible for licensure in Ontario and be ACT Board Certified in Theriogenology. In addition, applicants will have a post-graduate degree, at the doctoral level (PhD, DVSc or equivalent) in Theriogenology, health management, epidemiology or a related field.  
Experience Desired:
 Previous involvement in teaching in a DVM program is preferred. 
 Commensurate with experience and in-line with collective agreements at the University of Guelph.
