Objective:
|
PEAK, a division of URUS, has an immediate opening for an Associate Director of Biosecurity position in Shawano, WI. (DVM)
This position is responsible for the health and biosecurity of bovine AI animals that PEAK presently houses in its facilities in Wisconsin, New York, and Montana. The role assures that PEAK’s production systems in the USA and the products produced fit with national and international regulations monitored and dictated by USDA, CSS and the EU. The role provides veterinary care, consulting and oversight for PEAK livestock in the USA and monitors performance in the area of biosecurity, livestock health & care and thereby facilitates and maximizes life-time productions and sales on PEAKS’s livestock. The role leads and receives assistance from PEAK’s location dedicated health specialists & health coordinators to assure further development in the area livestock health and care. The role is integral part of PEAK’s global Operations team, a member of PEAK’s global production team, and the role reports to PEAK’s head veterinarian who works out of PEAK locations in the US.

Training Required:

Competencies & Requirements
• DVM - degree
• Licensed in Wisconsin
• Valid driver’s license
• Accredited by USDA in Wisconsin (type II)
• Strong interest in applying continuous improvement systems in the areas of calf health, growth and nutrition and reproductive physiology and biosecurity
• Strong understanding of dairy cattle genetics and the dairy cattle industry.
• Strong background and skills in editing and analyzing data.
• Able to perform critical audits of current PEAK programs and standards and communicate with persuasive skills with the PEAK team to make any necessary improvements.
• Self-starting and self-motivated person to make continuous improvement.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have an excellent work ethic and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel
