| Objective of Talk |
This presentation will cover my experiences handling outbreaks of HPAI in dairy cattle on multiple large dairy farms in California and will present listeners with practical approaches to cow health care both during and after the outbreak, expectations of clinical signs and syndromes developing both immediately and weeks later, and ways to prepare a dairy for an outbreak. This presentation will also cover the challenges of preventing the spread of the disease both within the herd and between herds and my experiences with that here. If time permits, I will address producer sentiments and the role they play in the private practitioner's role in monitoring, treatment, and prevention of the disease. |
