Job Description:

Objective:
|
Veterinarian position in a mixed animal practice. The related activities would include some companion animal work as the practice is approximately 50 per cent small animal 2 % equine and 45 per cent food animal. The food animal would be working with producers mainly cow/calf or feedlot. Dairy is approximately 3 per cent of the practice. In the food animal section repro work, vaccination decisions, OB, lameness and working calves spring and fall. |

Training Required:
|
DVM license required for Nebraska. Palpation or ultrasound knowledge is not required but would be helpful. We do some cattle AI breeding and experience in that field would be nice but not a requirement. |

Experience Desired:
|
Recent graduates or someone with experience is fine. |

Salary:
|
Salary is dependent upon experience. Salary is open for discussion. |

Benefits:
|
Minimum 3 % of the salary is profit sharing and may be more depending on how the year's profits shake out. AVMA dues, AABP dues and NVMA dues are paid. CE money available as $500 the first year and then $1000 the second year with $1000 each year thereafter. |

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
|
Clinic building for small animal work. The building is equipped with digital radiograph, CBC and blood chemistry machines, gas anesthesia with good surgery equipment. The food animal area has a tilt chute and tub under a roof. One side of the area is used to work calves in a small calf chute or can be converted to the area where we do c sections or other OB work by moving the calf chute. Pick up vehicles and boxes are provided for ambulatory work with the equipment provided. |

Accounts receivable, phone and billing position, front desk phone position 2 Vet tech positions. At this time two other DVMs but we are possibly looking for 2 new DVMs to make 4 veterinarians on staff. |

We try to give excellent service to our clients, and be there when they need help. We do not know everything but have strived to find answers for the client when we do not know the correct answer. We try to be progressive and keep our clients aware of the new products and procedures available. |
| Practice Area: |
The practice is located in eastern Nebraska between Omaha and Sioux City IA with another major town, Fremont, 30 miles south of Oakland. We cover approximately 5 counties and parts of another 3-4 counties. The herd size ranges from 400 cow/calf down to clients with 15-20 cows. The hobby farmer is around with 1 to 4 cows but we don't have a lot that size. Feedlots range from 1000 hd to 8000 hd. |
