The Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an individual to fill a full time position for post-graduate training in Beef Cattle Production Medicine. There will be an opportunity to complete a MS degree and board certification with ABVP (Beef Cattle Practice or Food Animal Practice).
Training Required:
Minimum requirements include a DVM degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine and experience in bovine practice. The successful candidate will be required to obtain veterinary licensure in Iowa and have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Experience Desired:
At least one year in private food animal practice is preferred but not mandatory.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
ISU CVM will provide all the equipment (including truck with vet box) needed to deliver service to our clients. Besides working out of the VFS Unit, clinicians may also refer cases into the ISU Food Animal Hospital as needed.
Other Personnel :
The Veterinary Field Service Unit (VFS) houses 5 faculty clinicians and three other postdoc candidates. Postdoc candidates will share emergency duty equally based on their schedules.
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
This position offers an opportunity to expand the candidate's production medicine skills and be cross trained among different species. Depending upon the area of interest of the successful candidate, advanced training in nutrition, reproduction, economic analysis, and production medicine will be available. The VFS has a very good working relationship with the Dept. of Animal Science and provides veterinary care for the ISU research herds as well.
Practice Area:
