Objective:
|
The Lena Veterinary Clinic in Lena, Illinois has a position open for graduates in Veterinary Medicine. We are
currently an eleven veterinarian, mixed animal practice located in Northern Illinois within one hour from
Rockford, Madison, and Dubuque. We continue to have robust demand for our growing veterinary services,
offering a nice opportunity for employment and future ownership potential. This position can be entirely large animal, or a mixture of both small and large animal, depending on the
associate’s desires.
The large animal portion of the position consists mostly of dairy cattle and cow-calf beef operations with some
feedlot work. We serve dairies ranging from 4,000 cows to 30 cows. The large animal position would include
bovine reproduction, surgery, individual animal medicine, and preventative health. Our clinic has a haul-in
facility with a state-of-the-art tub system and hydraulic chute that tilts for working on any lame cows or bulls
safely. We strive to be the most progressive livestock practice in the area with an in-house milk quality lab,
portable hydraulic chute, Easi-Scan ultrasounds, and brand-new Lane Pulsator V machines for breeding
soundness exams. Our cow-calf business continues to grow and offers a nice variety between dairy and beef
work. We also serve some equine and small ruminant clientele, and our applicant would have the opportunity to
grow in these areas if desired.
The small animal portion will be serving pets which mainly includes dogs and cats, with the occasional bird,
guinea pig, ferret, etc. Services we offer to our clients include gas anesthesia, digital radiography, in-house blood
work, ultrasound, therapy laser, and cremation services. Our associate veterinarian position will have the
flexibility of including routine surgery in their daily schedule as well. We are always looking to expand our
services, so we are seeking an individual who is excited to bring in new ideas. Our area also has potential for
significant growth in providing orthopedic services if our applicant is interested. |

Employer sponsors 10% of salary into 401(k) regardless of what employee puts in, $500 CE stipend, payment of dues for 2 organizations of your choice, group health care rates, and 2 weeks paid vacation which increases with time in the practice. We are open to discussion on student loan repayment stipends as well. |
