Objective:
|
Valley Veterinary Center is seeking an associate veterinarian to join a well-established nine doctor practice. The position is primarily for a food animal practitioner specializing in bovine medicine and surgery, but with an interest and ability to handle mixed animal practice as well. Willing to structure the position to fit and fill the needs/interests of any applicant.

Training Required:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and licensed in Iowa. |

Experience Desired:

New graduates and experienced veterinarians are both encouraged to apply.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

Large animal resources include portable manual chutes, three portable hydraulic chutes, three portable hydraulic tub/chutes, large animal surgery/working room, bovine neonatal ICU, and embryo transfer lab. Stationary tilt tabled. Our small animal medicine/ surgery practice has two exam rooms, one surgery room, and three kennel rooms (feline, hospital, and canine separately). Capabilities include gas anesthesia, digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental machine, in-house blood machine, and U/A. Option to have clinic provide truck and vet box. |

Six full time veterinarians, three part time veterinarians, five receptionists, five large animal technicians/chute hands, plus additional part time/seasonal help.

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
Individual appointments are seen in house with most herd services performed in the country. Bovine Reproduction (estrus synchronization, artificial insemination, embryo recovery, freezing and implanting, breeding soundness evaluation, portable ultrasound pregnancy evaluation.)

| Practice Area: |
Drive time is a part of the position as the practice area covers a radius of 30 miles. All duties, including emergency on-call, will be shared among six full time doctors. Looking for the right candidate that is excited to learn, work hard, and communicate well with clients as well as all team members.
