Life is short. Don’t waste it working in a toxic clinic where you aren’t appreciated! Come join us in the Splash Zone! Dutton Veterinary Services is located in rural central New York. I have a position for a mixed animal associate. On-call duty for large animal is required (no small animal ER) but you will have backup if needed. Tentative schedule for emergency is 1 weekend a month and 1 day a week. No weekend appointments. Schedule is flexible according to your needs. Usually appointments scheduled 9 to 5 on weekdays. We try to get you home on time. |

Salary:
|
Salary starts at $90,000 to $100,000. Emergency fees are paid directly to the veterinarian (expect $4,000 or more per year if mixed vet). |

Individual health insurance is paid (approximately $7500 value), as is liability insurance, licensing fees , membership dues, and uniform allowance. Continuing education allowance of $2000 per year provided. Ten days paid time off and five sick days. |

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

Mixed animal veterinarians will be provided with a vehicle, bowie unit and ultrasound for use on calls. Equipment to outfit the vehicle is also provided (speculum, pump, NG tubes, fetatome, calf jack etc). The practice also has digital portable radiography, a power float, Pegasus therapy laser, Bemer blanket, and Abaxis blood machines. |

The practice patient breakdown is approximately 20% dairy, 15 % beef, 40 % equine, 20% small animal and 5% small ruminant and porcine. But as mentioned, there is plenty of room to grow in any area. I practice high quality, compassionate medicine. I do not tolerate abuse from clients or toxic behaviors from employees. We laugh every day at work and leave work at work. If you are looking for a fun, encouraging and satisfying work environment look no further. I have previously worked as a professor and love teaching and mentoring. |

Delaware county NY is located in the beautiful Catskill mountains and the area abounds with outdoor activities. Several urban areas (including NYC w/in 3 hours) within short drives provide your need for ethnic foods and other activities. But be prepared to live out in the peace and quiet of the countryside.
