 We are looking for a compassionate veterinarian with the desire to provide high quality, affordable care for public, rescue and shelter pets. We foster a continual learning environment and place a strong emphasis on mentorship. Training Required:
 Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and must obtain a California license and USDA accreditation level I. 
Experience Desired:
 Applicants of all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. 2 years of experience in small animal practice is desired but not required. Competency in spay and neuter procedures is required. Experience in dental prophylaxis and extractions is recommended but not required.  
 We offer a comprehensive benefits package including $150,000 annual salary.  
 The Pet Advocate offers an annual CE stipend to cover the 36 hours biannual California CE requirement. We cover AVMA, state and local VMA membership fees. Veterinarians receive 2 weeks paid vacation during their first year of employment. A retirement package is available after 1 year of employment. We provide a great medical plan through Blue Shield.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
 Our practice has a two table surgical suite with a 2 table prep area. We aim to provide spay and neuter services to 30-40 pets daily and 1-2 dental procedures daily. Our dental suite has a brand new Midmark Vetpro DC digital x ray machine (DR) and a Midmark 1000 mobile dental unit. We are a "paper-Lite" clinic that utilizes a cloud based clinic management software that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.  
Other Personnel :  Our staff consists of 2 receptionists, 5 support staff and 1 veterinarian.

 The Pet Advocate is a surgical and wellness center that provides services for healthy pets. We provide affordable spay, neuter, dental and wellness services for the general public, local animal rescues and shelters. We believe a successful practice is built upon teamwork, healthy employee culture and a low stress work environment. Our practice believes mentorship and continual learning are absolutely necessary for success. We encourage our veterinarians to continue to grow and improve in their skills and competence. The practice was founded in November 2019 by Dr. Mike Wesselink, a former dairy and beef cattle veterinarian and 2015 graduate from UCD. We emphasize and enjoy a low stress work environment with no on-call, weekend, evening or emergency duty. Our hours of operation are 8:00 am-4:30 PM Monday-Friday. We enjoy leaving work on time to get home to our families, friend and pets.  
Practice Area:  Tracy, CA Tracy is a rapidly growing city in the central valley of California. We are located 1 hour from the beach, 2 hours from Yosemite, 3 hours from world class ski resorts in Lake Tahoe. Outdoor recreation including hiking, boating, swimming, hunting and fishing are just 10 minutes away in the California delta region. Within 30 minutes drive there is a great variety of shopping and fine dining available.
