Objective:
|
Metzger Vet Services is searching for a veterinarian to work in its recently acquired feedlot practice in Southern Alberta. Metzger Vet is a 12 vet practice working for livestock operations of all sizes in Ontario and Southern Alberta. We have a supportive team of more than 50 staff. We are looking for a veterinarian to offer clinical, consultative, and regulatory services to our clients. Our primary interest is to find a vet to serve our feedlot clients, however we would welcome applicants with interest or additional training in swine medicine, epidemiology and/or applied clinical research. We can offer industry leading mentorship, equipment/facilities, and compensation. We look forward to both experienced and new grad applicants. Please contact us for further information. |

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

We have a very nice office building with a new addition that includes a large meeting/training room. Attached to the office building is a 6 bay indoor truck parking/stocking area. We are 100% mobile with a truck and bowie provided. Each of our Alberta yards have very good handling facilities. |

We have over 50 members on staff. We believe we have a very strong team mentality. We recognize that our office staff, processing crew, technicians, and other staff members are as important to our team as the veterinarians. |

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:

We have been in the feedlot business for a long time and understand the importance of "boots on the ground" and personal interaction in the feed yards. We strive to keep our clients informed and current while focusing on cattle health. |
| Practice Area: |
The southern Alberta practice is located in Picture Butte. It is an agricultural hot spot and often called "feedlot alley". We are in a town of around 2,000 people and just 15 minutes away from Lethbridge (100,000) which has all the big city amenities. If that's not big enough then we are two hours to Calgary. We are 2-3 hours drive from two amazing National Parks (Waterton and Banff). Many adventures await. |
