The Technical Service Specialist MQAH, reporting to the Technology Manager R&D Milk Quality and Animal Health (MQAH), is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing farm trials for R&D MQAH. They also play an important role in the analysis and interpretation of large data sets and support to Product Management & Development Unit. Responsibilities include: Plan for and execute clinical trials for mastitis prevention, hoof disease, cleaning and sanitizing on the dairy farms. Assist and advise Product Management & Development Unit regarding clinical trials for product development and MQAH. Preparation of protocols and required documentation for planning, executing and monitoring clinical trials
Analyzing and interpreting large data sets as required by group initiative. Train and advise the sales force in the market on DeLaval products regarding how they work and how to use them. Preparation of technical newsletters, scientific papers, competence handovers (related to clinical trials results), seminars (online and on site) on DeLaval products and scientific information for dairy improvement
Provide technical support for existing products to Solution Support & Advisory Specialists, and Solution Managers (provide via technical newsletters and webinars for continued education). Technical support on non-routine claims, customer problems, competitive product comparisons and new technology assessments. Investigate product claims/quality messages and coordinate corrective actions with R&D, Sourcing and Product Management. Build a wide network within the industry, investigators and other key stakeholders. Be an active player in the product development and innovation process |
Training Required:
|
B.A./B.S. in Animal/Dairy/Veterinary Science required (M.S. preferred)
Have practical experience in cow physiology, dairy farming and milking systems, preferably 2+ years. Most of the current members of the team have veterinary degrees. |

Strong communicator and active team member
Have the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
Experience with a variety of software programs useful in office work and statistical packages (i.e. SAS)
Proactive and independent, self-starter
Organized, task oriented and analytical personality
Cross functional team worker
A basic ability to understand mechanical systems and chemical applications
High level of familiarity with agri/dairy industry
Have a reasonable understanding of mastitis, hoof problems, and cleaning of milk systems
Ability to travel up to 40%
