Objective of Talk The breeding soundness exam has evolved much since the mid-1950s. The advancement of technology and discovery through evidenced based medicine has allowed this exam to progress. The challenges that food animal practitioners encounter regarding remaining relevant in the livestock industry continue to surface and the profession has to find means to maintain their position in a changing world. This session covers the latest updates to the bull breeding soundness exam. Morphologic assessment will be discussed in greater depth in order to gain a better understanding of what the most common abnormalities are telling us as practitioners. The session will also discuss handling and evaluation of cryopreserved semen.
