Description: A rare little veterinary pocket book, first published in Leeds in 1812 and eventually reprinted in Halifax as late as 1863. Of the various (4) editions located, that of 1812 is found only at Imperial College, London, that of 1814 at Washington State, and that of 1835 at BL + Imperial + U.C. Dublin + 3 in North American libraries in addition, of course, to the copy at the Science Museum, South Kensington. The printing locations of all these early editions (viz. Leeds, Halifax and Manchester) suggests that the author was a local vet. Item Value: $100 |
